About this course
In this course, you will learn about Internet Exchanges (IX), a largely unknown but essential part of the Internet infrastructure that keeps the world as you know it today connected and running.
Each IX connects the networks of Internet service providers, digital application and content providers, and all manner of digital service providers – like cloud services, payment services, and retail – to facilitate the exchange of data traffic and accelerate, improve and secure digital communications.
This course will provide participants with an understanding of the key concepts of what an Internet exchange (IX) is, its role in Internet data traffic, and its benefits for the growth of digital economies and enterprises.
What are the course objectives?
- To understand the role and functioning of an Internet Exchange (IX) in the transfer of internet data.
- To grasp how how IXs enable better performance of digital products and services and strengthen regional economies.
- To find out how an IX can optimize enterprise connectivity through enabling private ecosystems with business partners, providing access to enterprise-grade applications, and ensuring high-performance cloud connectivity, etc.
